Firefighters worked frantically to put down a huge fire that damaged a historical clipper. The Cutter Sark was engulfed with 30 foot flames, and smoke from the fire could be smelled throughout the area. The ship is the only known surviving 19th century tea clipper, and it has been known to be one of the fastest ships in the world before the introduction of steam boats. Half of the timber and artifacts were removed before the fire for the ship’s conservation project, and officials believe that the ship could be fully restored despite heavy fire damages.
