China ban news report of Zhao Ziyang PDF Print E-mail

The Chinese government ordered all newspaper, TV, radio, Internet webpage, and other media firms to not release reports of a former Communist Party Chief Zhao Ziyang. Ziyang opposed the 1989 crackdown of the Tiananmen Square protesters. The government fears that allowing discussion of the former leader would revive the sprit of the Tiananmen Square.
