The meeting between Mugabe’s party and the opposition MDC led to talks about the potential control of several ministries by the opposition. The opposition made clear that this demand is an imperative before any government can be formed.

With millions of people of Zimbabwe suffering the old politics seem to be the obstacle for any progress. In fact, Reuters have suggested that “no progress had been made on the main hurdle.” Mugabe seems to be fine with the idea of moving on without a unified government, and unfortunately the immediate problems, such as hyper inflation and rampant diseases, would not be solved even if a unified government did form.

International intervention is necessary to restore order and tackle the humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe.

This is my writing depository containing analysis and opinion on current events. Online since 2004, DS NETS continues to strive to contribute to the general online discussion on the ongoing political, societal, and cultural events around the world and at home.

It is my belief that through good writing that not only I can think beyond the headlines and abstract summary of articles but also my writings can open new avenues for further research and discussions.
