Ahmadinejad's speech during anti-racism conference triggers walk-out

The anti-racism conference hosted by the United Nations was met with controversy when Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made controversial remarks against Israel during his speech. However, the speech was only the part of the controversy, when protestors attempted to interrupt the President's speech by shouting remarks against the Iranian President. The conference further went into drama, when many delegations from the European countries walked out as the Iranian President made his controversial accusations against Israel. Outside the conference, there were many people protesting the conference, and President Obama has condemned the Iranian President's comments against Israel.

Unfortunately, a conference about anti-racism should be in principle about making progress towards a better future without racism, but unfortunately some have used this conference as a political tool to accuse Israel of being a racist state. Regardless the facts whether Israel is a racist country, the conference failed, because it created more tension than unity around the subject. My point? The conference made the problem of "racism" worse.

But my goodness! What a drama in a single U.N. conference! France 24 captures them nicely.
