President Bush and President-elect Obama meet in the White House privately as part of a Presidential tradition and also to facilitate the transfer of power. No aides were present in the meeting, and the meeting marks one of the rarest moments of personal contact between Bush and Obama. President-elect already faces political pressure of the financial crisis and the failing U.S. auto industry.

Although the meeting was purely a symbolic one, I wish there was some substantive discussions behind closed doors. President-elect Obama has already been working diligently in the transition process, and President Bush has announced his full support for that process as Presidential leadership becomes an imperative for the nation that is going to be riding through the several developing crisis.

But it was clearly nice to see a relaxed composure between the two powerful individuals as the world scrutinizes their every move to forecast the future direction of America.
